Cheatham County

Cheatham County lies in north, central Tennessee and is home to Ashland City, Kingston Springs, Pegram, Pleasant View and Joelton as well as several smaller unincorporated communities.  The metro area of Nashville sits just east of Cheatham County.

This region is one of nature’s best kept secrets because of its magnificent scenery and rich tradition. The air is clean, sparkling streams and rivers flow freely, and historical sites decorate the natural beauty of the land. The county features 20,000 acres of outdoor recreational opportunities including hunting, horseback riding, and bird watching.  Residents take pleasure in the perks of the area’s recreational parks, camping, golfing, water sports like kayaking and boating, fitness facilities, biking and more.

In addition to the outdoor adventures that are abound, the locals here like to celebrate the arts by enjoying music and theater and they come together for various annual events.

The region dates back to the 1800s and was home to thriving railroad towns and summer resort towns.  Today, Cheatham County is home to several large manufacturing companies.  Some of the historic sites have been converted into restaurants while others await renovations.

The school system in Cheatham County has received high parental reviews and has higher test scores than the state’s average.  Families have the choice between public or private education.
