Green Hills

Green Hills, Tennessee is an area south of Nashville in Davidson County near Berry Hill, Oak Hill and Belle Meade.  Green Hills is officially part of the city of Nashville which means the residents here use a Nashville mailing address, however Green Hills is locally recognized as a very specific district within Nashville that is encompassed specifically by the zip code 37215.

Green Hills has been around since the 1930s and since then it has grown into one of the most affluent pockets of Nashville.  This community is geographically divided into two residential sections: east and west.  Hillsboro Road acts as the divider of the two sections.  Both sections contain high-class homes and townhomes.  The shopping district lies between the two areas.

While there are many perks to living in Green Hills, the biggest advantage is the level of convenience the neighborhood provides its residents.  Folks living in Green Hills are only 15 minutes away from all that Downtown Nashville has to offer and they are just 20 minutes from the famed city of Franklin which is home to the legendary shopping experience at The Factory.

There are also plenty of educational opportunities nearby because there are three universities within 5 minutes of Green Hills: Vanderbilt, Belmont and Lipscomb Universities.  Many people choose to live in Green Hills because of the convenient commute into the universities and/or their jobs in Nashville.

Income levels in Green Hills tend to be higher than other parts of Tennessee and the unemployment rate is lower.  The folks living in Green Hills are generally well-educated and conservative in nature.  As mentioned earlier, this is a more affluent area of Nashville which means home values are higher than average.  While the market took a hit a few years back – like the rest of the nation – things are recovering nicely and values are once again on the rise in Green Hills TN.  The surrounding areas all saw significant increases in value during 2012.

Green Hills is an excellent place to raise a family with all that it offers.
